Opera action heating up..

Opera in the Heights is gearing up for its January/February performances of Verdi's: Un Ballo en Maschera. Singers are arriving during next week for rehearsals with 1. performances on Jan 28, 29, and 30, and Feb 4, 5 and 6.
just a music sample for you: Bjoerling and Milanova

What power in those voices even in an 'old recording'.
And HGO is hosting its annual 'Concert of Arias' on Thursday Feb 4. with aspiring and competing singers arriving the last week of January.
This is really a favorite event for opera lovers who support young emerging talent.
HGO will present TOSCA (Puccini) this is sung by my all time favorite tenor Franco Corelliand THE TURN OF THE SCREW (Britten) almost a 'psycho thriller' in contents - not for the faint hearted ;-).
haunting music, convoluted story...eerily modern subject.
