Joyful moments and odds and ends..

To see women and men of both of my countries (once an Austrian, always an Austrian even if now a citizen of another country) step up to the podium and receive medals for their excellent athletic achievements is a joyful occasion. So it was yesterday.
Elisabeth Goergl-Kapfenberg, Austria gets the Bronze in Downhill.

So it will continue to be, I hope!

While the Olympics go on for another week, there is hockey being played, too.
Aeros are on the road and will face Milwaukee, Chicago and Peoria starting Friday night.
GO AEROS!

And the Texas Stars are facing off against the Marlies on Friday, after a successful campaign against Syracuse Crunch with Richard Bachman

(in this clip we get a double treat: Current Aeros Chad Rau-WOW getting a hat trick and Current Star Bachman in net) in net and Mathieu Beaudoin staring them off with the first goal last night!

Kolanos admirers have been following the trials and tribulations of their beloved KK and have found out that he has undergone successful hip surgery but may be out indefinitely.Per Into the Boards article: "Kolanos, 28, has not played since January 16th at Norfolk, when he carried a three-game point streak (3 goals, 2 assists) into the AHL All-Star Break.
The Calgary, Alberta native has 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 27 games for Adirondack this season; he has missed the Phantoms' last 13 games due to this injury".

And Corey Locke Fans may enjoy this, if you haven't seen it already :-)

So much to look forward to this weekend!
