Wallflowers... or a lesson how not to..

play hockey at the Toyota Center....if you want to win.
Aeros vs Peoria 1 (24 SoG) - 2 (29 SoG)
The lonely goal (on a Power Play it was) for the Aeros came in the second period by Hilbert with Noreau and Gunderson.
Peoria's goals in 1. period came, just on the second shot on goal by Strachan, Wagner and ....LOVE!!! second goal by Strachan, Sonne (was he a little sunshine or what?) and Junland in the third.
Now, had Ryan Lannon been a puck, Peoria would have made goal Nr. 3...LOL.
And Peoria did show how to control the puck by any and all means: bellies, bottoms and upper thighs while sitting spread eagled on the ice...no, Virginia, sticks are not really necessary ;-)!

Once, "The Scrapper" Daoust got hold of the puck, rushing with it like mad towards the Peoria goal to find himself, like Robinson Crusoe, all alone surrounded by - Rivermen, while his team mates were standing off. (Nautical expressions on purpose!).
He squirmed, he weaseled this way and that, but... the Rivermen had him pent up. No one near to pass the puck, so-like Harry Truman, the 'puck stopped there' and the Rivermen stole it handily!
I'd like to sing with Marlene :"Where have all the flowers gone...?"

Wallflowers

Better shut up and go drown my sorrows...

And tank up courage to go to the Sunday game against the Rockford Icehogs.. another loss on home ice?

Ah, but a couple good things did happen, Almond and Testwuide recovered and back on the ice, a bit rusty perhaps... But the whole team seemed a bit rusty after a longish stretch of NO contests.
WHAT happened???
