Saying good bye is hard to do..

...under an almost full moon, last night, there was a wake for a cat.

Not just a cat, a CAT (in capitals).
He was no famous breed. In his salad days he may have been a fighter, a lacerated ear pointed in that direction.
After 14 plus years as companion to a dear friend, the CAT Jericho departed for cat heaven.
So we toasted his life with a somewhat gritty Red.
A regal cat, he generally stood aloof until HE decided you were worth his attention. Then he twined around ankles, butted against shins, lasered you with his huge eyes:
'Are you ready for me?'
He'd climb onto the 'best lap' in the house, knead around with claws sheathed - but you knew they were there - settled his vastness and purred deeply while granting permission to be scratched, stroked and rubbed. When he had enough for the moment, he'd nip a bit, not hard, just to let you know he was ready to leave, rise majestically, and stalk off to confer with his acolyte, Shadow. A few moments later he might be back for a repeat...he knew how to manipulate the constant or temporary subjects of his realm. AND WE ALL LET HIM.
What a cat!
I don't have a photo.. but here's one that looks a bit like his majesty, Jericho. Except he was not quite so huge and lot more cuddly ;-)

On the Hockey front, I have it from 'royal' authorities, that one of fans' favorite, Matthieu Beaudoin, will NOT return to the Aeros. And from the same informed source, we hear that the NEW Aeros will be different. Different approach to training, with the emphasis on getting guys ready to move up to Minnesota as soon as possible-

Change is on ice...Change at SLICE... Change at TC....a season of Change ahead!

Newcomer Cody Almond (22) who excelled as scorer with his minor team and was signed by Wild for a three year contract, sustained an injury and will not attend the Traverse City event. Hopefully, he'll be healed and ready to 'score' for our NEW Aeros, come October. The NEW Aeros are geared toward defense and sorely need good scorers, having lost Kolanos, Locke, Beaudoin and Schultz...

The all pervasive catch word is Change. It is in the air everywhere. If it will be a change for the best, one can only hope!
