Loose Moose loose 2-5

Well, that just about describes the game. Manitoba just didn't quite have it to win.
To fans of former Aeros "Rosy" (Marco Rosa) I can report that he now proudly displays the A, still has his eye/hand coordination to get successful face offs and continues to aim his slapshot at the net-alas only AT, not into, at least tonight.

Richard Bachman has turned into a quite good goalie, an able heir to Climie (just saying).

And guess what: Wathier, supposedly recalled to Dallas, was present enough to put the first puck into the net tended by Tyler Weiman, who had a couple good saves (Stars 23 SoG) but also let in 4, the Nr 5 goal was an empty netter. His assists were Roman, Fortunas. And the Nr. 26 (no not that one) but Cody Chupp with Gazdic and Sean Backman (the Right Winger) got goal  Nr. 2 in the 2nd.
BTW Cody Chupp at 25, signed an ATO with the TexasStars at last season's end, the way he has played thus far ain't too shabby for an amateur ( LOL) - of course he is now under a regular contract.

That goal was followed by Nr. 3 by Sean Backman with Spang and Wathier. Both goals by Chupp and Backman eerily reminded me of the sneaky approach from behind the net around the post and in under the pads of Weiman,(sort of a Kolanos/Locke type of goal?) Weiman, as far as I could judge, could not have stopped these 2 goals, not even if he'd stood on his head, sprawled completely flat and wiggled every arm and leg - which he did not do, of course :-)!. Goal 4 unassisted by Sawada, and the empty netter by Rallo clinched the game.

The lonely goals by the Moose came in the 1. Cody  Hodgson with Bill Sweatt and Tanev, and the 2. by Oberg with Valpatti and Shirokov in 2. period. Only six players from last year were kept on, the Headcoach went to the Nhl. And with the Brothers Sweatt it seems like a family run operation...;-).
Bill, the younger Sweatt has more points than his older brother Lee, while Lee leads in PIMS (lol-defending the family honor?).
Teams seemed of even energy, although the Stars showed up better in offense, while the Moose lacked decisive defense..lots of turn overs. Good forechecking by the Stars, especially in the second. Jon McIsaac, the sole referee, let the game be played, just 2 PP for each with no goals. Thus the game went swiftly to its conclusion.
Happy Stars left victorious.
Loose Moose lost.
A few more photos manana!
