What price privacy?
Are thoughts still free or will they invent a "THING" to read one's mind?
Just imagine:
1) you are thinking good thoughts, the corners of your mouth turn up and the "THING" knows you have nice thoughts!
2) you are thinking ugly thoughts, the skin on your forehead crinkles and the "THING" knows that you are furious, ready to act.
The "Thing's Masters" then can sublimely suggest GOOD thoughts to calm you down.
Voila, brainwashing has occured without using force!
