How sweet Victory.
Aeros rout Icehogs 5-3.
Although in my opinion that last Icehog goal was courtesy 'Dubie' .. that said - a brief recap.
Early on Fraser achieved glory by his FIRST goal, assisted by 'Frisky' Gillies and Milroy. Duncan, you are playing really well, Bravo! Lannon, 'the Cannon' and Sifers left injured.. how badly, one does not know yet. The Icehogs, rather appropriately hog the area around Dubie...with overall 37 Shots on Goal. Including a penalty shot held courageously by Dubie.
Second period has the Icehogs storming out and even the score by a goal by Skille, with Connelly and Cullen. While Kearns sat for cross checking, Daoust 'the Scrapper' with Rau-'Wow' scored goal 2. Or was it Rau-'Wow' with 'The Scrapper'? Although first it was announced that it was Rogers, ' the Rock', Rogers who filled in, once again, at defense since 4 defense guyz were out and Stoner and Earl, 'the Pearl' up in Minnesota. However, Brandon Buck ''Bucky', freshly up from the Everblades, injected some swamp power and did remarkably well. At one time it looked as if he, too, suffered an injury, but HE was back on the ice shortly thereafter.
In Period 3, "Ironman" Noreau stopped a dangerously flying puck with his skate-saving Dubie. But shortly thereafter, Icehog Bickell with Keith and Connelly made it even 2-2. Brophey, who had been quite a thorn in the Aeros' side, sat, almost, back to back for Interference and High Sticking. "Speedy Jon" Di Salvatore with Almond 'Joy' and 'Ironman' Noreau got another Powerplay goal : Aeros 3- Hogs 2.
And then the magical moment, Petr Kalus, unstoppable like an avalanche, rushed down the ice and WHAM goal number 4. (Got his pet name now: Avalanche ;-). Drumroll, please!
A moment to remember.Good Show! What a play, Petr.....BRAVISSIMO!
About 3 minutes later, Matt Kassian, achieved greatness with HIS unassisted goal, making it Aeros 5 : Hogs 2. So, Matt, don'cha think that goaling is preferable to fighting? :-D, ;-D!
Regretfully, a few seconds later Dubie 'strolled ' way out of his circle leaving the net wide open for Klinkhammer, with Danis-Pepin and Brophey to score goal 3 for the Rockford Icehogs, almost a GIFT from Dubie to the hogs. BUT The guyz won! And it is quite possible that 'Zippy' Zingoni will put some zip into the game soon! And he will surely add a few more goals to HIS name!
