Aeros block out Texas Stars, Dallas Stars tame Minnesota Wild

Just could not resist..
Aeros in OT blocked the Texas Stars, while The Dallas Stars do the same to the Minnesota Wild...coincidence, no?

Now to the game at Cedar Park:
Aeros came out energized, peppering Bachman with 16 SOG and 1 goal by Prosser, Palmer and
Rau (welcome back Chad, face cage and all) and that on a Power Play.
It was a fast First for Aeros, Stars seemed 'dimmed' , and that despite having some fast skaters.
Richard Bachman had his 'gloves full' :-)!
Anton Khudobin leisurely - just kidding, he made some good saves- stopped 5 SOG by the Stars.
With Referee Geno Binda on the ice, the first period was calm - at least as, CALLED, penalties went.
And those 2 went against Texas.

But he made up for it in the 2. and called 8 against Aeros, none vs Stars.
Zingoni, back on ice after months of inactivity, seemed kinda lost,
he had 2 penalties called for holding, the latter of which enabled Stars' Morin to put Stars on the board with a goal.
Earlier Gillies,Wellman and Scandella got another goal: Aeros 2 Stars 1.
Aeros had 8 SOG, Stars managed to have 9 as also in the 3.

In the 3. Stars Sceviour evened the score to 2:2.
Despite 2 PP opportunities (Aeros penalties) and 1 (Stars penalty) no further PP goal was recorded.
But Aeros came back to 3:2 with a goal by Peters, Buck and Gillies.
Shortly Chupp made it 3:3 and the game went into OT.

Referee Binda gave Aeros another PP opportunity - in Over Time yet -
which was well utilized by Almond with Daoust and Scandella,
and Aeros left  Cedar Park victorious 4 : 3. and keeps them in 5.place in the West.

Aeros skaters who made an impression on us this night:
Cuma, reacts fast and decisive;
Prosser steals pucks under tight circumstances;
Palmer very fast and quick in deflecting puck away;
Bagnall did some heavy checking,  and successfully kept the 'others' from shooting;
Peters is so effective in getting face off after face off-undisturbed by derogatory words shrilled by female Stars fan! Who also kept yelling the same to McMillan..why? 
I could see the Peters "You. s..." chant, after all he WAS a Star last year, but McMillan?
No clue and neither had any neighbouring Stars fans.
Hm, did they have a  more personal acquaintance that soured? Quien sabe.

Watching Peters at face off, he appears to look at the lineman's face/eyes while the 'other' looks down on the ice, which gives him an edge, I think.

In the 3. Texas Stars made several slap shots that ended up, way over the protective net behind the goalie, in the stands to the delight of several kiddies and adults :-).

At one time poor Anton was on the bottom of huge pile up of bodies .. Stars alternating with Aeros..at least 3  layers high. But he seemed unfazed after that. And unfazed with 'slow hung pants' which inspired some Stars fans to excessive yelling. He made one HUGE save at end of 2. that was almost too incredible to accept.

And Binda took his blasted time blowing the whistle to keep more players from piling on..
now that really s.... in my opinion. And not only in mine, but the fans in Cedar Park seemed to feel the same.
Well, Binda is YOUNG (or young looking) so maybe he needs a bit of seasoning?
Shall we say take his refereeing with a grain of salt? Or pepper? LOL
