Aeros 4 (with 16 SoG) drown Rivermen 1 (with 26 SoG)
Aeros kept up consistent speed and strong electricity during all three periods.
Good passing, fast and controlled skating made this game so exciting to watch!

Peoria's Ben Bishop played 2 periods (letting in 3 goals). (I typed 32 periods..now that would be a superworld record, all right :-D..it should have read 2 periods)
is so tall, even in a deep crouch his 'rear' touched the cross bars!
He also did a couple of those incredible back arching stretches, that had some fans literally drooling!
Alas, my little 'point'n shooter' was not pointing at him just at that moment! (I refer readers to Ms. C. blog for photos of THAT).
and he let in the 4th Aeros goal.
Barry "Brusty" in goal stopped 25 SoG
A few seconds into the 1. Period "Testy" and Love (yes THAT Love went at it, with Testy holding the upper hand and LOVE lost ;-)! Peoria played a rather physical and fast paced game, but Aeros matched them well.
First goal at 10:25 by "Falk-er" with "Sunny" Fraser and Sifers.
Five minutes later Love and "Testy" at it again, this time IMO, an even contest.
During a penalty kill Duncan Milroy went all out to rapidly becoming "King of Pucks Away",
saving "Brusty" from being scored on.
The second and third periods proved to be the scoring ones:
goal Nr. 2 by Gunderson with "The Streak" Smith and "Bucky" Buck getting the helpers.
In the Third: Goal Nr. 3 by "Avalanche" Kalus with "Bucky" and "Brusty", and later Goal Nr. 4 Irmen with assist by Daoust and Gunderson.
Paddock, Sonne and Wagner got the lonely goal for Peoria on a Power Play at 11:44 in the 3.
Celebrating the Win..
Aeros had 4 PP, Peoria 8.
Great Penalty killing by Aeros especially during a 3 on 5 play.
Alas, during a collision with "Frisky" Gillies, Peoria's Lampman seemed seriously injured, even though he managed to get to his feet, he swayed and was carried out on a stretcher.
Gillies skated off holding his wrist/underarm, apparently not unscathed from the collision impact.
Later Sifers appeared to have been hit in the body and also skated off for the rest of the game.
"Bucky" Brandon Buck really stepped up and played consistently well, even without his stick, LOL.
"Bucky" did get Star Nr. 3 for his 2 assists (not for loosing stick and gustily 'defending' ;-)..!
Star Nr. 2 was Gunderson for HIS goal and assist.
BUT DRUMROLL PLEASE - Tata
Despite a cut on foot early on, he played and how he played!
"Brusty"the Nr. 1 Star.
Now they go on the road.
And so will 'Better Half' and I - to Austin for the weekend for an opera and a Hockey Game - Peoria vs. Texas Stars - and the end of "The Mystery of Helmet Nr. 25", as we devoutly hope :-)!
