The Drama of Abbotsford - Act Two

while waiting for it to start
...let's all just 'Nessun dorma'!
A few years ago, during an HGO production of Puccini's Turandot, I asked a young, now rather successful bass, could he imagine Nessun dorma (the then signature song of the Three Tenors
sung by a bass?
Would a Bass start high, then progressively sing lower and lower in a sort of mirror image of the tenor, for whose voice Puccini actually composed this aria?
Well, he surprised me by belting it out after taking a DEEP breath :-)  -
hmm, it did not sound too bad at all, to my deep voices loving ears, not at all.
Really!
But it sure did not prepare me for what I heard - below!
Readers, you must, simply must, have a sense of humor - most definitely a large sense of humor to listen (Thanks Nici for emailing me the link)...ah well, it takes all kinds...

And now to the ongoing Drama Aeros vs. Heat, Act Two:
Khudobin in goal tonight. The usual Aeros suspects are injured plus Spurgeon.
Already one goal up in the First despite being outshot by the Heat: 16 SOG by Heat Aeros has 8.
a PP goal by Palmer assisted by Earl and Prosser.
And so it stands through the first intermission.
1. Aeros 1 Heat 0
(Mathieu Beaudoin has another goal for the Rampage who won tonight 6-3 over the Barons).
2. PP goal in the Second by Earl (making him tied for team lead) with help of Fraser.
2. Aeros 2 Heat 0.
Heat's McMillan 1. goal in Third. Standing Aeros 2-Heat 1.
Goal by Breen Aeros  tied at 2 with Heat. Seems a 'skipping puck' caught Khudobin by surprise.
3. Aeros 2 Heat 2.

That one gives Heat the second win!

Aeros started out well, increased play in the Second period only to slow it down in the Third,
while the Heat started fast, slowed in the second and gave it another spurt in third, forcing the game into OT. Excellent defense, great energy, great comeback.
Heading AGAIN into OT.
And both teams being scoreless, we are back to a shoot out, just like last night
Heat scores twice, Almond scores one for the Aeros.
Nemisz scores. Heat 3 SO goal in 5 rounds.
And so The Heat wins its second SO game at home.

Why can't they keep it going in the third?
Other teams seem to find the extra energy to do it.
It cannot be their age or the travel schedule!

The Heat is said to be a young team.
But then so they said it of this year's Aeros. The schedule is tough, but then it is as well for other teams, since, to my eyes anyway, the AHL tries to have as many weekend games as possible this season to increase viewership!
"And damn the torpedos".. ahem, the travel schedule by bus, by air, by day or night!
