The Austrians are coming... Another Austrian playing hockey.. right here in Texas.
Marco Wieser (also from Villach, whence came Michael Grabner - remember The Moose scorer of 2 yrs ago vs Aeros).
But despite stopping 45 shots he could not keep The Ice Rays from loosing to the Wichita Falls Wildcats last night! Here are some statistics on him
Born Dec 15 1990 -- Villach, Austria

Wieser now joins other Austrian born hockey players working in the USA... Vanek, Grabner etc.
I believe he is only the second goalie though!
Dear readers in Germany, Austria and Canada - do know of others - Do let us know -thanks.
Austrians, by birth, heart or adoption let's support 'our' boys (and girls if any).
After all, we do do it for 'our' Singers, Composers and Artists!
On the AEROS front, will this be the YEAR of THE GOALIE? And elsewhere as well?
Wundergoalie Hackett also shone in the net with 40 saves.
And as the video shows he is not afraid of a bit of scrum ;-)!
The Scrapper Daoust scored the first goal in the 1. and
Casey Wellman got the winning goal in OT.
As as sophomore at U Mass he had hat tricks..will he repeat this for Aeros?
Of course the Wild may call him up - soon and often- if needed!
Aeros have now won both away games of the season vs the OKC Barons.
Tonight they face the - up to now - winning Peoria Rivermen for the 1. time at the TC and then tomorrow, Sunday, a third game with OHC Barons also at the TC.
Will the team hold up ? Playing 3 back to back?
Alas, The Rampage were not as lucky. Loosing to Peoria despite two goals scored - the second one by Mathieu Beaudoin, Nr. 26 with the Rampage. Montoya in goal only faced 20 shots, but Peoria scored 6; Beaudoin scored a goal in the first period, which SIGH was disallowed. Ben Bishop was rather outstanding in goal for Peoria. Both teams earned several penalties...tough teams both!
