Yawn....

So, someone does not like us to sleep peacefully to 7 AM. Or maybe it is something that does not like us. A robotic call morning after morning..three rings, it stops. Ah, we're ready to turn over and ...three rings, it stops. 'and again..finally, jump' out of bed, rip the cord from the wall ..so there! If you call again, it won't wake us now! So there!
Naturally, after all that, can't sink back into Morpheus arms. Might as well get up. Ah, Coffee, lovely, black and strong...what is the phrase people use ' a spoon can stand straight' ? A plop - the paper is here already, full of 'good' news..uprisings, Tiger Wood's back, another earthquake, governments at collapse, long term unemployment holding steady, hospital closing, teenage unemployment rising, unpaid internships denied, Maestro Levin's health and contract issues, and the list goes on. Ah, a spark of joy...

Houston to get a soccer stadium! Let's paint it orange! To go with their jerseys! Ah, sports, what ever would we do without them? Go to more operas, theaters and concerts. ;-)!!!

Meanwhile over at T3I, a discussion rages about the missed penalty shot, that was not award to Irmen. Could it really have rallied the 'old' new Aeros? Could it have made that difference and led them to OT? And with some real luck to a win or at least a point? All academic now - it was not awarded, no shots were fired, no goals were made and no points received. Noreau FINALLY called up to the Wild! Well he deserved it, IMO, before some of the others that were called and returned. What's ahead for the Aeros: tonight Rampage at SA, Saturday Stars in Houston, and Sunday again Rampage in SA. And so it will end...on a sad note. And the Hockey diaspora begins ..

For once, I will comment under "Anonymous" to avoid responsibility for what I am about to say.....the easy way out many sports bloggers and experts sometimes take (online) to detour around a "sticky" subject.

The Official's "non-call" on the Irmen breakaway was contrary to the AHL penalty call Rule 25 and just a "bad call". Having been present for all Aeros home games and attended a number of road games, this play seemed to highlight the Aeros inability to receive "balanced" officiating throughout the season.

Of course, part of the Aeros officiating problem has been the lack of judgment by many of the Aeros players, themselves, in incurring unnecessary penalty minutes and failing to "mentally adjust" to the officiating of the game. When they have needed "the benefit of the doubt" from officials, it has not been forthcoming.
